Oscar's Foods Background and History

When Oscar Gramata was growing up in San Juan, Metro Manila, he was already selling longaniza and tocino, a "hobby" that financed his college education. By the time he came to the United States with his family in 1973, his hobby thrusted Oscar into a successful business which caters to the Filipino-American community that hungers for these Philippine delicacies.

"A friend asked me to make some longaniza for a party she was hosting. She got a lot of good comments about my food. She ended up telling a Filipino storeowner about my foods, where we sent a couple of dozen samples. They were all sold within that week", said Oscar Gramata.

Currently, Oscar Gramata is in-charge of the manufacturing and distribution of his products locally and nationwide. His products like longaniza, tocino, tapa, chicharon and lechon.

Oscar's Foods has served the community for over 20 years sharing the Filipino tradition of "great taste" and "quality".

	Oscar's Foods, Inc. has been family owned and operated since 1982. We are a USDA Inspected food processor for meat and other food products. We market our products largely through wholesale distribution locally and nationwide. We also sell retail.

	2001 Business Excellence Award - State of Illinois Oscar Gramata was recognized and commended by Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White for "outstanding contributions to the economic vitality of the Asian American Community, the City of Chicago, and the State of Illinois".
	1990 Outstanding Filipinos of the Midwest Oscar Gramata was awarded as one of the Most Outstanding Filipinos in the Midwest by the Cavite Association of America.
	1989 Wholesale Manufacturing Company of the Year Oscar and Lolit Gramata were honored for Wholesale Manufacturing Company of the Year by the Steering Committee for Metropolitan Chicago M.E.D. Week. Back to Top
